Raise to wake is a simple feature that shows you all the notifications and updates on your iOS device. It is a time-saving feature in iOS 10 because:

  • You don’t have to unlock the device’s screen.
  • You can interact / respond immediately.

For example, if you have receiving a message on your iPhone, you can reply quickly without having to unlock the screen. Apple Watch has a similar Raise Wrist To Wake feature.

Raise To Wake: Compatibility

Raise to wake works only on iOS 10. It is only compatible with Apple iPhones. Rest of the iPads and iPod Touch model do not support Raise to wake because they do not come with motion co-processor which is embedded within the A9 chip.

Models supporting are: iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Because these models has A9 chip.

Note: Old iPhones like iPhone 6, 5s, 5 are not compatible with Raise to wake even if you have turned it ON through the Settings menu.

Raise To Wake: How To Use It

First, you have to enable Raise to wake to make it work. This article explains how to do it.

Second, to use Raise to Wake, you have to raise your iPhone to your eye level. This automatically shows the list of notifications you have received.
