Last updated: June 18, 2016 at 21:29 pm

So when is Apple going to release the new iOS 10 firmware? The answer is here. In this page, we will explain how the iOS releasing process works along with the scheduled dates.

Did you know: Apple releases a new iOS firmware every year? And a mini-update every month? This has been going on for years.

Quick Note (Reminder):

  • If you are a non-developer, and you want to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to iOS 10, then you should select "iOS 10 Stable." This iOS 10 version is for consumers.
  • If you are a developer, and you have subscribed to the paid Apple Developer Program, then you can get iOS 10 for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch through the "iOS 10 Beta" links. This iOS 10 version is for iOS developers.

Tips:

  • It is always advisable to upgrade your iOS 10 version to the latest one. This removes bugs, flaws, or any crashes while offering improvements to existing features.
  • Backup your data before upgrading your iOS devices to iOS 10. This helps you save a copy of your important documents, apps, and contacts in case something goes wrong.
  • Make sure your device is compatible with iOS 10 before downloading the iOS 10 IPSW files. If Apple says a particular device is not compatible with iOS firmware, then there's nothing you can do about it.
  • If your device is upgradable to iOS 10, see that there is enough storage space to install this firmware.
